Artist Reflection

Jackson O'Brien

The Picture I like the most is the image with the car side mirror because the image focuses on the mirror and you can see the sun and the light in the mirror. The picture of the stop sign is the weakest because the stop sign is in the middle of the picture and it would look better if it was off to the side. Move a little to the side to add rule of thirds to the image. i used photoshop on a couple of them to fix the lighting. I reached the goal by taking as many pictures as i could to choose from them and that gave me a better advantage, I also followed some of the things on the hand out that would make pictures better. Just taking pictures because it can be fun sometimes just taking pictures of the world around you. Not having the time because for me I am involved with sports so I couldn't always find the time. I would honestly rate my effort a 7 or 8 because I could always put more effort in and try more harder.

Composition: point to ponder

emphasize forground because im holding the camera high to emphasize the water and the trees in the background
this is rule of thirds because the main subject is on the outer frame of the picture

this is height and distance because im emphasizing how tall the sign is
leading lines because of the baseball bat and the ball and home plate are drawing attention with the lines
this is simplicity because it is focused on one thing and there is no dead space
Avoid bulls eye because there is nothing in the middle of the frame except the tree in the way back.
this is multiple subjects beaucse the trash and boats are all the focus of the picture
this is brightness and sharpness because it has good lighting

The Falling Man

The falling man

This photo makes this part of Time Magazine's 100 Best Collection because of many reasons. This man is falling for his life. Trapped up in a building that is blazing in fire, he did not have many choices left. It was a terrorist attack on our own soil. Both world trade centers with smoke coming out of them. People starts to jump out of the building and, Richard drew starts to take pictures of them. This picture shows the courage and chance that that man and people took, and in some way people can relate to it.

The difference between a snap shot and a artistic photo is a snap shot is a quick picture with not much effort. An artistic photo is a picture with many details with effort into it.
